My name is Cydnei Chyan and I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana. It's in the Midwest.

Well me and a friend wrote Golden. I had told him I wanted to create an anthem about being comfortable in your skin. Back when I was in high school if you weren't light skinned you weren't considered pretty. Songs were made about it and everything and for a long time I started to believe that. What is your name and where are you from? My name is Samaya. I was born in India and I grew up in India, Southeast Asia and the US. 

How would you describe your music? Eclectic, electronic? :) It's heavily influenced by Indian Classical, jazz, hip hop, and RnB.


Where does your inspiration to create music come from? It's a compulsion, really. The best way for me to work through emotions is to create music with it.
