DA FRONT PORCH

DiP of 2HOT 2HEAVY PRODUCTIONS

June 3, 2012
What is your name, company name and how did you get started in this business?
Shawn Singh aka DiP - 2 Hot 2 Heavy Productions - I've always been a musician & I've always loved music... I guess it was inevitable.

How did you keep your name relevant and not just fall off?
We just keep putting out nonstop music. Good music at that. Videos stay fresh and we have branched out throughout  many different genres of music. We seem to be attracting fans from the whole spectrum of the music world, and there is no such thing as sleep for us. We understand that nothing will change and this is the life that we live so we spend mostly all of our time and resources to take our operation to the next level. It's too easy for other artists and labels to take a break, get discouraged, or hit a bump in the road and be slow to get back up. Most artists do, and that's why most artist are unsigned.

Who inspires you too keep going for your dream goal?
Fans & Haters...The feeling you get when people love your music is an unexplainable feeling. The fuel that haters provide us with burns so hot that it can melt a hole through the earth.

At the end of the day, what do you want people to know about you?
I just want them to know where they can listen to our music.  That is the main reason we provide our music to all listeners absolutely free. This next 2H2H/PRG mixtape will be distributed to tens of thousands of listeners at no cost to the listener. We make music simply for the love of music. Understand that people are/will download your music for free if they feel like it, but some artists and labels still don't understand that people won't pay for a ticket to your show if you're unheard of.

What do you do to keep your mind clear and drama free?
Mary, Mary, Mary...

What advice do u have to people that want to get into the entertainment business?
Watch out for the snakes in the grass. Most of the people in this music industry are fake, dirty, scared, crusty, flaky individuals. Even your closest friend will cut your throat at the first opportune moment when you are dealing with the music industry. That is why I learned the business aspect inside and out before I started sticking my feet in the water. School was probably the biggest help and I encourage all these aspiring artist to get that degree. I will benefit you No Matter What!!

Who is all on your roster?
Wow that would be a lot of names. But to put it in retrospect, my company joined forces with PRG in 2008. Since then we have been gaining social influence and work personally with a lot of major players in this quad-state area. Understand that 2 Hot 2 Heavy Productions is a media production company. We produce all types of media and at the end of the day, that is who we are on paper. I can say that there are people who record here faithfully and strictly deal with me when working on their personal projects.

How can people get in contact with you?
Facebook.com/Dip2H2H
 Youtube.com/2Hot2Heavy
 Twitter @2H2HStudios

What is your process for putting a song together?
Not too much of a process. Everything comes naturally for the whole team. Hook, Verse, Mix, Stamp.

What is one of your favorite tracks that you put together and why?
Probably the dub-step song "Stop."  It solidified the idea that we are capable of great things. Especially with the low budget and lack of high quality equipment at that moment in time, it still showed us that greatness can be created with nothing more than great people.

Do you have any shout outs?
Again...Fans & Haters

What was the craziest thing you ever did in the studio?
Holes In The RooF??
