2. How did you get into music business?
I been doing music since before I could remember man, since my mother got me my 1st boom box and I figured how to record my voice on blank tapes.. I even took her old tapes, and pushed tissue in the top of them, and recorded over her joints with my own raps (and yeah, I got my ass whipped a few times for that lol) I was making mixtapes in middle school and selling them out my backpack in the 90's. So id say I got in to the business by the love I've always had for the sounds.

3. Tell us about your mixtape?
My latest tape called THE HUNGER..RELOADED AND REFOCUSED was written while I was in Iraq serving in the Army, the whole thing was written in a combat zone. I remember writing tracks while there was mortars being fired at our base, so that aspect of it has some uniqueness to it, I think. When I came home from my deployment, I was stationed in Honolulu ,Hawaii and thats where the tape was recorded, at Blueplanetsound.com. so the fact that it was written in a war zone and recorded in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, (in my mind) makes the tape one of a kind. After I was done recording I reached out to DJ JGREEN to host it for me, he blessed off on it and the rest is history.

4. Where are you from?
STRAIGHT OUTA THE DMV. Frederick MD to be exact. S/O H-town and the whole 301, 240, 410, and 443

5. How do you choose your beats?
Man I spend hours and hours listening to beats, thousands of beats, and what i choose depends on my mood at that exact time,  like right now I'm gravitating towards that old school boom bap sound....

6. What artists inspire you?
As far as inspiration goes I could make this list a few pages... but if I had to pick 3 MCs I'd say 2pac, Ghostface, and Raekwon hands down.

7. Tell us about a week in your life?
At the moment I'm still an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army, So I'm up at 5am, running miles by 6:30am, training and leading my soldiers 24hours a day 7 days a week.... but every second of free time I manage to come by, I'm writing music, in the studio recording and mastering my craft.

8.Any shoutouts?
1st I gotta S/O Da Front Porch for the opportunity, INDIEKUSH.COM, FAT WHITE FILMS, THE WHOLE DMV, ALL THE SOLDIERS, SAILORS, AIRMEN, AND MARINES THAT GO OUT THE DOOR EVERYDAY NOT KNOWING IF THEY WILL RETURN FOR OUR FREEDOMS, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ALL OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS LOCKED UP, WE LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL.

Mellenee Carpenter

September 12, 2012

How did you get into writing and what inspires you to keep writing?I originally got into writing naturally as a child. Truthfully, the household I was raised in did not allow me to have a voice, so the pen did my talking for me. I started out just keeping diaries, then poetry, plays, and it keeps evolving over time. What inspires me to keep writing is the satisfaction of expressing myself, having an outlet for my creativity and thoughts, and the hope that something I w...

Ray Allen Signs with Miami Heat

September 2, 2012

Ray Allen sign with the Miami Heat. The NBA will never be the same. Will the world hate Ray Allen now – all he ever did was be one of the greatest point shooter the galaxy has ever seen. It was the Yin and the Yang, some times a person has to turn down perks such as cash and gifts for happiness such as being part of history.

The problem with many professional athletes are that they forget what they represent. Many of the highest paid athletes never recieve the one thing they wanted since t...

Ace Hood - We On (Video Shoot)

It was hot as hell outside, and I had no plans on making any moves. I got a text from Draya about G5 Gentleman's club having a "We On", Ace Hood video shoot. I hit up Cherish and we was on our way. The video was real smooth. Bottle of Moet, Ciroc, a couple ladies and ya homeboys - just the way its suppose to be.

I had a One on One interview with Ace Hood of WE THE BEST. You can find that story in the July/August issue of Tip Drill Magazine. Ace is doing what he gotta do to bring the mon...
